Emacs всё-таки местами слишком архаичен и требует много времени на настройку и изучение хоткеев. Но вот что делать со знанием тех хоткеев, к которым я успел привык, непонятно. Из общих между Emacs и KDevelop — только Ctrl-T меняет местами два соседних символа. А вот Alt-T для «поменять местами два слова» уже не работает. А уж как легко было запомнить Alt-U/L/C для uppercase, lowercase, capitalize. Помните, кстати, эту заметку?

Стиль для виджетов я использую QtCurve. У этого стиля есть версии для Qt3, Qt4 и Gtk (соответственно x11-themes/qtcurve, x11-themes/qtcurve-qt4 и x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtcurve в портежах). Таким образом, я могу установить единый стиль для всех приложений (почти тоже самое можно добиться с использованием одного gtk-engines-qt, но это работает не так хорошо). Правда, пользователи KDE4 говорят «that’s so not Oxygen».

Кроме того, у этого стиля огромное количество настроек, а для ленивых есть несколько предопределённых профилей. Вот теперь пойдут слайды:

Почему всё такое зелёное? А это — цветовая схема mildgreen. Как пишет автор, он старался сделать что-то, что выглядит приятно, и даёт глазам отдохнуть. Собственно, шаблон для блога я выбирал из тех же соображений.

Из входящих в состав Emacs’овского пакета Color Theme тем мне ни одна не понравилась, так что делаю свою, ориентируюсь на цвета из шаблона этого блога и цвета mildgreen (белый фон — текущее выделение):

There is a dark side of the programming world. Some are never exposed to it … some have only had enough exposure to be scared by it. I remember the first time I witnessed a member of this «dark side» in action. I had wandered into the cubicle of one of our recent hires, a long-haired «Unix guy» who was in the midst of a rather furious coding session in a very strange looking editor (Vim, for the curious). Watching him operate his editor was truly an experience. He was working at a pace I’d never seen before, his cursor flying around the buffer like a pinball. I was like a child seeing a magician for the first time (that hat was empty!).

I rudely interrupted his session — in part to marvel at his proficiency, but also to ask some questions about his current project. He walked me through the code he was working on, and the artistry continued — he seemed able to will his cursor around the buffer with the power of his stare, as if he was simply «thinking it» there. I’d never seen anything like it — he wasn’t using his editor — he was his editor.
